  Creation Myth

Existence was blinding light.
Everything was pure white.
Lo, then did we witness the coming,
of Sarith and Seres
Seres quelled the Light,
and Sarith brought sight.

Lo, then did we see the world.
The world, as bare rock.
Then there came Tyrin and Sulinea
Who brought forth the trees and the sea.

Lo, then did we see the world,
The world, as a living rock.
Then came Lorian, Lifegiver,
Filling every, forest, sea, and river
Lo, she filled them with Life,
Life, bringing a new soul to the world.

Seres placed man on the ground,
Where Man began to travel around.
Lo, then did we watch Man,
Man, the tamer of the world.

Lorian gave birth to Qalik,
and Qalik harnessed Life.
Lo, then did we plant our fields
Wheat, corn, oats, did they yield.

Vrol then came to Adellion,
And with a command, he brought forth mountains.
Lo, then did we see the land buckle and rise,
And Qalik watched, with tears in his eyes.

Seres then brought forth Malok,
and Malok hunted Lorian.
Lo, then we saw Life come to an end.
Malok brought death, which Life could not mend.

Malok spawned the twins Hessrah and Jolkath,
Whom he gave the power to end Life.
Lo, then did we see the onset of pain, and of sand.
Jolkath brought Pain, while Hessrah scorched the land.

And thus is the Tari,
Whose words guide Ye.
Lo, then do we worship the gods,
And embrace the lifeblood of Adellion.

  Mythology & Folklore

The great hero Korewyn, is said to have scaled the tallest mountain in the land, Mount Vrol, when it was infested with minions of the evil god, Seres. He slew the beasts, and thrust his sword into the ground atop the mountain, whence light shown down upon the blade. The summit of Mount Vrol has been the holiest site to the Tarians since that day, and Korewyn's Sword can still be seen thrust into the rock. A temple has been erected around the sword, and it is Tarian custom that every worshipper make a pilgrimage to the Temple of Vrol to make an offering.

  Prayers

It is a custom for Tarians to say a prayer to Vrol before working within the mines, and before eating meat. Every keg of mead is also blessed by Tarian clerics. To take part in the drinking of mead, one is proclaiming respect for Vrol.

"Hymn of the morning meal" -
(giving thanks for the meal.)
We praise Sarith, mother of all, giver of sight.
We shun Seres, the destroyer, the great darkness.
We honor Vrol, raiser of mountains, pillar of strength.
We thank Lorian, beautiful life giver.

"Vrol's prayer of deliverance " -
(a request for aid)
Oh maker of mountains, grant me your strength.
I will be as the mountain; strong and immovable.
Lift me up and I shall know no fear.

"Blessings for battle" -
(said by Clerics before a campaign)
Go bravely followers of the true faith.
May Vrol give you strength,
And may your enemies quake before you.

"Blessing of mead" -
(Optional before drinking mead)
Blessed be this mead
And, through it, may I too become blessed.
