Adokon, the "City of Shadows" is at the center of the Heart of Tariana. Here, the military of the Empire is controlled, and here the merchants of Tariana bring their goods. The Heart of Tariana is bordered on the east by the mountainous district of Vrolinir, on the west by Seahold and the Kyronn, on the south by Southsea, and on the north by Tynal-Drul. Rich mining in the south balances the fisheries, trade and agriculture of the northern and west-central portions of the district.
Towns and Cities
"Adokon" -The dock district of Adokon is bustling at all hours. Boats and ships from the River Set as well as from Kyronn dock here, bringing goods to Adokon. There are two centers to this district: the Temple and docks area, and the Bank area. The Temple of Sulinea is a brilliant white beacon, overshadowing the mouth of the River Set, as well as the busy city docks. Several small businesses and warehouses line the streets of the docks district. The central area is dominated by the Bank of the Empire. Here, fortunes large and small are stored for those trading in Adokon and Tariana.
The old town consists of the first constructions in what was eventually to become a large city. Some of the buildings here are ramshackle, but thriving business still goes on here. Many of the mining and agricultural interests are located in the old town. Strong walls line the western approach to the old town.
The newest and most exclusive area of Adokon, the Valley has been built up by rich merchants. It also lies in close proximity to Ravenspire, the Library of the Empire, and Hinn Vrolhamar headquarters. Buildings and roads here are well maintained and clean. Strong walls bound the western and southern approaches to Adokon.
The heart of Tariana in truth, Ravenspire contains the Emperor’s residence, offices, barracks and stables for the Crimson Legion, and is the center of government for the Empire. The central spire is constructed of black basalt, quarried to the west, and the surrounding buildings of pink granite, setting off the high tower. The Half Moon Lake reflects an image of the glorious spire in its waters. A fortified and manned wall surrounds Ravenspire.
A fairly new construction, the Library of the Empire contains documents and works of art on various topics, ranging from warfare to mining to treatises describing the various cultures of the land. It has only been in the days of Rahkzan as Emperor that the Library has been viewed as important. He caused a new building to be constructed for it, and continues to add to the treasures stored there.
