  Cooking

General description : Using actions related to cooking the characters will be able to eat, cook meat/fish, prepare full cooked dishes that have a much better nutritional value than any raw/single ingredients and poison food.

Cooked dishes will make the players lives a lot easier because they don´t have to worry about acquiring food/eating all the time, (disregarding eating will lead to temporary stats loss and ultimately to short states of unconsciousness).

Prepared dishes are also worth much more money in the npc shops.

Actions :      I. Add ingredient
                   II. Cook dish
                   III. Empty pot
                   IV. *Masked*
                   V. Eat
                   VI. *Masked*

I. Add ingredient (non-skill based action, method; skill panel, active action)

By using this action the characters can mix various (eatable) ingredients to create nutritional dishes.

The player equips a cooking pot (supplied by the pottery skill), targets the ingredient that he wants to add to the pot and chooses to use the action from the skill panel.

The action is instantaneous.

Each dish (cooking pot) takes 20 ingredients to complete.

All (eatable) ingredients in Adellion have nutritional values; ranging from the simple foraged and farmed goods to cooked fish and meat to full cooked dishes.

The players will need to learn the right recipes to make the dishes.

If the combination isn´t exactly right the dish (ingredients) are always ruined.

Examples of dishes :

There are several dishes that Chefs can make in Adellion these include, Fish Stew (A delicious mixture of fish, vegetables and wine), Braised Root Vegetable (A lovely vegetable dish with a spicy seasoning) and Apply/Berry Tart (Something sweet to finish off a nice meal made with Adellions finest berries from around the continent.)

Players will be able to learn these recipies through trial and error - or, at a later time, other players.

II Cook dish (skill based action, method; skill panel, active action)

By using this action the characters will be able to cook the dishes that they´ve prepared and thus increase their nutritional value, (the dishes can be eaten raw too but they only give 1/10 of the nutritional value in that case).

In addition to the prepared dishes the characters will also be able to cook pieces of raw meat and fish using this action, (thus making them eatable).

To use the action the character has to be close (within 2m) of a fire (campfire, oven, forge), equip a ladle/scoop (tool, wooden), target the food (dish, meat, fish) that he wants to cook and then choose to use the action from the skill panel.

When baking (bread, tart, biscuits) if the action is successful the model of the pot (dish) is replaced by an appropriate model of the pastry.

Effect on gameplay/economy : Cooks produce cooked dishes and meat that keep hunger away a lot better than any raw ingredients, thus making cooking skill essential to any character/party that doesn´t want to waste a lot of their time on finding food.

III Empty pot (non-skill based action, method; r-clicking, active action)

To empty a container the player r-clicks a cooking pot that has some food/ingredients in it and then chooses the "empty container" command from the list of actions related to the item.

The contents of the pot (i.e. the full pot model) immediately disappears (are presumed to be poured to the ground) leaving only the empty pot (model) to the inventory.

IV *Masked*

V Eat (non-skill based action, method; r-clicking, active action)

By using this action the characters will be able to consume any eatable goods in the game.

The player r-clicks the item (a pot for example) that he wants to eat (from) and then chooses the "eat" command from the list of actions related to the item, (the item must situate on the characters inventory).

The food is immediately consumed, (possibly leaving an empty container in the inventory).

After the hunger bar is full the characters cannot eat any more, (until it goes down a bit again).
