General description : By using actions related to brewing the characters will be able to produce substances containing alcohol (ale, cider, wine, mead and rum) that are then sold by the bottle to the other characters or to the inns and taverns around the land.
Alcoholic substances can also be consumed to relieve thirst, although they don't offer the same amount of refreshment as water.
Containing and consuming water can also done using these actions.

I. Fill container with water (non-skill based action, method; r-clicking, active action)
To fill a container with water the player needs to have an empty container (bottle/barrel/pot/skin) in the inventory, be close (within 2m) of a sweet water supply (well/river/lake), r-click the empty container and then choose the "fill container with water" command from the list of actions related to the item.
The container is automatically filled with water. The action is instantaneous.
To start brewing the character needs to fill one barrel (30 litres, wooden) with water.
Full barrels are so heavy that a character can only carry one at a time, (barrels are also considered large items which means that only one empty barrel can be carried at the same time too).
II. Add ingredient (non-skill based action, method; skill panel/r-clicking, active action)
To use this action the character needs to have a barrel filled with water in the inventory.
Certain ingredients are then added to the barrel.
The player targets the ingredient that he wants to add and then chooses to use the action from the skill panel. The ingredient is added to the barrel. The action is instantaneous.
Each barrel takes 100 ingredients to complete.
For the fermenting process to start the players need to learn the right formulas for each drink.
After the 100th ingredient is added to the barrel a message will inform the player that the container is now full.
Note : The action could also be done by r-clicking the barrel, choosing the "add ingredient" command from the list of actions related to the item and then (when prompted) targeting the ingredient to add.
III. Ferment (non-skill based action, method; happens as a result of successfully adding 100 ingredients to a barrel, passive action)
Each completed barrel ("a barrel (fermenting)") takes several days to ferment. The amount of days depends on the drink that is produced.
After the fermenting is done and the barrel is examined ("tasted") the message will say for example "a barrel (ale, full)" or "a barrel (wine, full)", depending on what had been manufactured.
IV. Drain/bottle (skill based action, method; skill panel, active action)
To be able to drain and bottle from the fermented barrels the character has to have a straining cloth ("a piece of cloth (flax)") equipped and at least one empty bottle in the inventory.
The player equips the cloth, targets the fermented barrel (a "barrel (ale, full)" for example) and chooses to use the action from the skill panel.
Depending on the success the dose (0.5 litres) is either bottled or wasted, (if successful one empty bottle in the inventory is replaced by a full one).
Each full barrel contains 30 litres of liquid, (each bottle is ½ litres, so a full barrel is worth 60 bottles, if none is wasted).
After one bottles worth has been bottled/wasted and the barrel is examined the message will say "a barrel (ale, incomplete)". After all the 100 doses have been bottled/wasted the message will say "a barrel (empty)" again.
V. Empty container (non-skill based action, method; r-clicking, active action)
To use this action the character has to possess a container that is not empty, (full, ruined, fermenting, incomplete, etc).
The player r-clicks the container that he wants to empty and chooses the "empty container" command from the list of actions related to the item.
The container is automatically emptied. The action is instantaneous.
VI. Drink (non-skill based action, method; skill panel/r-clicking, active action)
To use this action the character has to possess a container (barrel, bottle, pot, skin) that is either full or incomplete and contains drinkable liquid, or either be near a sweat water source (well, river, lake, spring).
The player targets the container that he wants to drink from and then chooses to use the action from the skill panel.
If the liquid in the container can be consumed the character drinks one bottles (1/2 litres) worth, (the points are added on the characters thirst bar). The action is instantaneous.
Or either if the character doesn´t have a container but is close (within 2m) of a sweat water source (river, lake, well, spring) one bottles worth (1/2 litres) of points are automatically added on the thirst bar every time that the action is used (until the thirst bar is full).
Note : Drinking from containers might also be done simply by r-clicking them, which would open up a list of actions related to the item and then choosing the "drink from the container" command from the list.
