Early are, Tribal powers gathered together and broke apart. The balance of the desert is greatly Disrupted. Clans and tribes of nomads rise to power and fall from their grace almost overnight. The people seek an answer to their problems. They seek a man who will save them fro their life of pain. It is foretold by many chieftains that a great man known as Surric will come to save the Desert from utter destruction.
The kingdom of the Sakoians is soon founded. The capital city is Sakril. Surric the Great is the current ruler of the kingdom. Their world is of the golden sands or Sako's Footprint. They embrace the scorching winds of the dunes for the teachings of Sa.
Soon, The three great prophets emerge into the lands. Alkshem, Bakwere, and Ulinore begin their prophecies throughout the land. Ulinore and Alkshem predict optimistic futures for adellionian leaders naive enough to believe them. Bakwere on the other hand is shunned for his fear inspiring and tragically negative predictions. Others rise to fame as well, claiming to be prophets seeing through the eyes of the gods themselves. Many cultures now have taken the prophets under their wing and as the belief in the prophets have become more popular so has most all cultures’ dependency on them to direct their day to day activities. Thus began the Era of Prophets
The surge of prophets brings prophetic advisors to each corner of Aryiure and though the leaders resent their presence, the prophets have great influence over the people. Prophets rise by the thousands, some calling themselves the "Speakers", in that they claim to be speakers for the "otherworld" and what is to come.
Years later, the second Surric appears in a fierce storm. Surric I dies shortly after.
Decades later, Surric II passes the mantle of leadership to his third born son, who will be known as Surric III. This passage, occurring again on Tar’il, cements the members of this particular family to service to the land, but will lead to some doubts and questions later as to whether it is the voice of Edalirin or of an aging man who makes the decision about the next Surric.
Prophets preach that a faraway kingdom of fire shall soon fall, bringing a time of trouble and confusion upon the Sakoians. During this time Surric III Rules the land. He is passed the mantle of leadership from heredity, and many have questioned his authenticity. Troubling times ahead give the new Surric many opportunities to prove his worth as a leader.
Sakoian prophets foretell a time when the leader of the land, now hereditarily known as "Surric" will disappear, plunging his countrymen into a time of despair. It is foretole a false Surric whom the prophets called the "Sightless Surric" would rule the land with an iron fist, nearly destroying the nation.
Over a decade later, The Sakoian "Time of Legends" begins.
A Sakoian "counter-prophecy" then emerged, spread by bards and nomadic tribesmen. It states that the Surric’s disappearance (if it occurs) will make the land of the desert stronger by making the people more self-reliant and strengthening their ties with the gods. It is unknown if this counter-prophecy is truly the work of prophets, or is a government plan to reassure the people. The current Surric spends a great deal of time traveling, working to make the people of his land united and strong.
Decades later, Jeraylind, daughter of the Archtier, is said to have been accosted by a sand demon, and transformed into a deep well by Edalirin to preserve her purity. Surric himself visits the wells, proclaiming them as authentic.
The six sisters, daughters of a herder near Verem, are promised to merchants as wives. None are happy with the arranged marriage, and they petition Edalirin to save and protect them. They Then disappear and are said to have been turned into palm trees, These allgeged palm trees are still cared for by priests to this day.
A few years later, Hundreds of Tarans throw themselves into mount Vrol to claiming prophecies have told them to do so. No apparent changes occur with their passing and the Pious Sakoian tribes begin to falter and align themselves behind the banner of Surric and worship edalirin. Shortly after it is decreed that the scattered ruins the Tribal families vowed to protect shall be protected by Surric in good faith for their alliegance.
Laries and Wicenda, sons of a miner in the town of Tatris begin holding regular contests to see whom could mine the most ore from the mountains around the town. As the two brothers won again and again both compeditors and ore ran short. Eventually the two mined shafts below the city itself. Antagonism grew between the two brothers and they began to compete against each other now. Soon they began to contest each other, digging deeper and deeper into the mountains and under the town until the mine shafts collapsed, destroying both the mountains and the town. That night Surric awakens and claims to have been visited by edalirin. He claimed that Edalirin told them he shall give the sakoians one last chance to preserve the holy lands rescources. From this point on Surric enacts a strict system of laws protecting the deserts rescources.
The prophecy of the sunned prophet then comes true many years later.. The great quake that occurred in the ocean of storms was sudden and deadly, destroying many sakoian explorer vessels at sea. The storm rumored to have caused this colossal destruction is said to be caused by a whirlpool named Caebrylla. Surric Decrees from this day that the sakoian navy will once again rise to power, but it is agreed new ship designs are needed. Sages from all over the Sakoian empire are brought to Sakril to begin research on a new ship design to once again explore the great seas.
Again, hundreds of Tarans leapt into Mount Vrol to prevent Vrol from anger. During this year, many Taran clans enjoy three times the normal harvests. It is prophesised that Vrol was pleased with the sacrifice and granted them the bountiful harvests.
After news of the Taran sacrifice and harvest, many Sakoians respond by donating works of art and craftsmanship to the temples of the desert towns. On the eve of the new year, a group of one hundred fanatic Sakoians give all their worldly goods to the temple in Rilper, then walk into the sand with only a thin shift of white cloth to protect them. They are never seen again. It’s assumed the sands swallowed their offering. This act begins the many rumors and tales surrounding "haunted" Ril’per. After this, the remnants of the town flee.
To attempt to curry the favor of the gods, while avoiding sacrifice of any in his family, a powerful trader in the vicinity of Verem contracts with miners and jewelers. A large block of jade is quarried and carried to Verem, where it is fashioned into a quarter-size replica of the Ta’ril. Hundreds of diamonds, sapphires, rubies and other semi-precious stones are set into the replica. The completed work is placed in the temple in Verem for all to marvel at. Surric himself visits and commends the trader for his donation.
Trade begins to flourish with other towns now, but a dark shadow still looms over the Empire. Prophets now not only continue to prophesize about the "Sightless Surric" but warn of the danger of the Great red eye, born in blood. Rumors persist that Surric himself has dreamed of this great red eye, and the people grow uneasy for some time.
Sakoians then return to the ruins of the small villiage of Rilper by the word of the false prophets. Their life here is hard indeed, and many disasters plague the village from the start. The ruins near the town show evidence of having been destroyed by natural disasters long before now, and many question the decision of the Rilper settlers. Nevertheless the village of rilper is once again inhabited and the people there seem happy enough.
The prophecy of the Dalmites is later recorded. In 200 years, the world will fall into a colossal battle, due to the arrival of a New Kingdom. The prophecy later becomes known as the prophecy of the Nine Kings. The Nine Kings will bring destruction to Aryiure. Similar prophecies are heard all over Aryiure over the next several months.
Resentment soon grows of the isolationism promoted by the current surric and his son, some of the Sakoian tribes and towns begin to pledge themselves locally, rather than to Surric and the capitol of Sakril. The next few Surrics shall rule over a broken land of divided tribes and independent towns.
Competing prophets urged rulers to war each other, in hopes to gain even more power in the spoils of war. After several fierce, bloody battles, rulers note the destruction to their lands, the loss of their people, and the growing dissent from the prophets in their nation.
As a result prophets are stripped of their titles and thrown from palaces. Many highly placed prophets are executed in their sleep.
Prophets respond by recoiling and launching incredible dissension in the nations, ranting of corruption in leadership, and rallying the people against their rulers.
Eventually rulers outlaw all prophecy, and offer gold for the prophets, dead or alive.
Over 6 Decades since the breaking of the empire, Tribes and small villages that strive for independence in the small desert still vie for control of lands here and there. The current Surric tries to quell the uprising and civil wars but his armies are greatly divided under the current situation. The tiny village of achersul is attacked during this time, with no protection from sakril or Surric, and is nearly destined to be destroyed. The Residents of the village pray for the gods to save them and a sandstorm appears, swallowing the army. The "Singing sands" are thus born and later many will come to this small village just to see the sands.
After several fierce, bloody battles, rulers note the destruction to their lands, the loss of their people, and the growing dissent from the prophets in their nation. The Current Surric begins a systematic policy of giving aid to tribes and towns within the desert, and slowly the people begin to return to belief that Surric speaks the words of Edalirin.
After intense research, the first of a new ship prototype is launched to sea. The Ezra sails its way outwards into the sea but is never seen again. The second prototype is soon launched to find the lost ship, the Bukrain. Both ships are lost at sea and the Sakoians mourn, but surric vows to remain stern in his effort to search and explore the vast seas.
On the one year anniversary of the loss of the two ships, the Ezra and the Bukrain, many say they could see the visages of the ships sailing in the distance. Some witness’s claim the ships are painted with a reversed symbol of the eye of Surric, painted in red. This ‘haunting’ event is rumored to occur each year from this day forward.
The War of the Nine Kings then begins. The face of Adellion is dragged into a war of which prophecies are the true prophecies. During the warring of the world, the kingdom of Poylian retreats to the Isle of Life, also known as Celtik. They remain adamant about not being involved with the war. They believe that the war is inevitable and could not be overlooked. Since the balance of Adelon has been disrupted. Surric leads the Sakoian troops, who fight not against each other, but against those of the border towns who do not accept Sakoian rule or religion. Many armed forays plunge to the north and east in an attempt to take and convert those lands.
Fifty years of fighting spread across the world of Adellion. The war began over the Dalmite prophecy of the Nine Kings. It was believed at this time each kingdom was at the height of its power. It was time to show the world their religion was the true religion. To be the winner meant to defeat all other gods and prophecies. Thousands were killed as the war was fought around the world. In the end, it proved nothing. The gods, had abandoned all during their time of need. The prophecy had promised them the riches of the world. All that remained was a world littered with thousands of bodies, memories and prophecies. It was during this time many hundred prophets were slain through the lands of Adellion. Anyone caught prophesying was summarily slain. Many of the great prophets went into hiding. Many more were killed.
2871 - 2921 TS
Sakoian nomads organize sporadically and raid towns that border the desert. Because of their strong ties to the land and to their religion, these raids are more often than not successful, and retribution from the towns is weak, since raids into the desert are most often unsuccessful. Sakoians have little desire to leave the desert, however, and that, combined with the will of the current "Surric" keeps most Sakoians within the holy desert land. Those that remain in the border towns do have an affect on them, and many of the border towns begin to adopt some Sakoian ways, including worship.
2901 – 2921 TS
Many Have now turned to the life of a nomad within the great desert, having lost faith in Surrics protection. Nomadic tribes still attack the weakest of the villages here. Sarns are greatly divided and Surric’s image is all but destroyed in the eyes of the Nomadic Desert clans. Theivery Runs Rampant after 30 years of war, and for another 20 years the town Sarn diminishes even more. Surric is made to look a fool by the Shadowy cult calling themselves the Sightless eye. He is forced to watch as his kingdom teeters on the brink of collapse, with no way to reverse the damage.
2925 TS
For the most part, Sakoians, including Surric, believe in prophesy, so those prophets who echo the words of Edalirin as spoken by Surric are allowed to live and serve in Sakril. The cult of the Sightless eye takes this time to move against surric. They began to preach anti Government prophecies and the insults are well heard. Those prophets that speak against the word of Edalirin and Surric are gathered on midwinter’s night and Summarily slain. The gesture is misinterpreted and the Sakoian government is seen as a tyrannical force.
2928 TS
It is now widely rumored, and later this year confirmed that the Sightless eye is indeed a cult led by prophets following the lost words of Bakwere.
2929 TS
During the last eight years, prophets from around the world are slain. This time became known as the Time of Slaying.

Even though science is the orientation in many cultures (including Sakoian), the Sakoian people keep their deep spirituality intact. A grateful trader commissions a tapestry commemorating his survival during a sandstorm that swept over his caravan as they approached Verem. The tapestry is donated to the temple in Verem.
3010 TS
The Aethan prophecy foretold during the war of the Nine Kings came true. It said death will fall upon the Bahhiran people. A few months later, a series of quakes sends the Bahhiran cities into ruins. The lands around the cities and surrounding towns upheaval in mountains of smoke and ash. The waves of the event splash into the shores of the great desert itself. After several weeks, no ship can see or get close to the isle. It is presumed that the kingdom of the Bahhiran people did not survive the prophecy. Much of the current Surric’s energy is spent in supporting those harmed by the wave, and in rebuilding.
3012 TS
Mud flats from the great tidal upheaval in 3010 are utilized by Sakoians. The new mud and ash deposits are quite extensive, and from them, a distinctive ceramic of pure white can be created.
3020 TS
Two weeks before the long forgotten anniversary of the loss of the Ezra and the Bukrain, a new ship prototype is finally launched to sea. This event is highly celebrated and many gather to see the ships launch. A small fire breaks loose on board for no apparent reason, causing an explosion that destroys the Docks here in Sakril. The explosion kills many onlookers and injures others including surric himself. Sarns soon track down the Herbalist whom admits to creating the concoction that destroyed the ship and claims to have been hired to make the mixture by a group calling themselves the Sightles eye. The herbalist was executed soon after.
3033 TS
Many of the kingdoms spend several painful years rebuilding. Others go into exile or seclusion. The most notable here is the Dalmites. They have not been seen since the Time of Slayings.
3186 TS
Surric dies without naming an heir. There is a brief wave of hysteria that travels over the desert, and some ritual suicides occur. The advisors, wisemen and counselors of Sakril soon begin a search for the next Surric, though their opinions on how that one will be known vary.
3194 TS
Strange northern lights have been seen on this night. For some, they say it was a shimmering portal in the night sky, as if the gods opened the very sky itself. Others see it as a sign of forthcoming prosperity. Most of Adellion is able to see the northern lights. Other rumors circulating are that the northerners are experimenting with something that changes the weather. Because of the enormous displacement for this event, it later becomes known as the Time of Lights. In Sakril, rumors begin that the lights herald the return of Surric.
3196 TS
After much searching for their New God-King, many seek to claim the throne of Surric. "False" Surrics, and those found impure begin to feverishly appear all over the desert. The conclave of ruling caste members begins executing those whom claim to be surric falsely, but the gesture does little to change the power hungry folk of the land.
3198 TS
The new surric is crowned at long last, the people now rejoice. The but naive acceptance of the new surric soon leads to chaos. It is discovered he is indeed a false, but it is too late for the sakoian people. Harsh punishment is put into place and the surric rules with an iron fist. Most stay in the kingdom out of fear, however.
3199-3200 TS
A momentous event indeed. The true Surric unites the fractured kingdom and fights a massive battle of freedom against the tyrant, eventually freeing the kingdom and taking the reins of leadership. A massive task of rebuilding is laid before the new Surric, but he is praised and beloved amongst most all sakoians.
