Sakoians believe the Surric is Edalirin. His word is law and decisions are final. The name given to the seat of power is Tar’il, or the Throne of Stone. This throne is made from the hardest rock in all Adellion. The stone has buried within it, thousands of gems. The glitter or brightness from the throne during the midday is so bright; the city is literally lit up in all areas. It is during these times that the “Sun God” speaks the holy words of Edalirin. The throne in itself has sparked thousands across Adellion from all walks of life to come and witness the power of Surric, the Shiaq, or Sun God of the Desert. As the 2nd Surric took his rightful place on the Tar'il, it was quite evident he was still a boy. Knowing he was still very inexperienced in life it was decided then that several of the eldest Sakoians would form a council to help guide the young boy as he grew into a man and great leader.
National Level Government, Leaders of Highest Authority
Surric: The Sakoian God-King
The Much coveted Surric, Revered to the people as a god. Surric rules over the land with much power and much mercy, and ever since his Incarnation into the desert and the creation of the Sakoian Empire he has been the Leader of the Sakoian people. His tasks are both to rule the Sakoian People and to make the important decisions concerning the religious caste, with the advice of the Secondary religious caste leader, the Grand Tier.
Supreme Lorelay: Head of the Sol-Tarn
The Supreme Lorelay is the one whom all the reports from the Lorelay of each town and village report to. He organizes Bills and proposals to bring in front of Surric and advises him on decisions, which would prosper the nation as a whole. All, foreign relations policies within the Empire comes from the mind of this one individual first.
Grand Tier: Attaché’ To Surric, Secondary Leader of Vol-Tarn
The Grand Tier is the spokesman and advisor to the religious community of the Sakoian Empire, and answers only to Surric himself in decisions regarding such matters. He often resides within the grand Religious training school and temple in the city of Verem, but usually meets weekly with the other council members to inform them or new matters that need attention.
Asbaar: Surric's Personal Guardian and Head General
The Sakoian Asbaar is a much coveted position amongst the warrior caste. His main duty is the lead the Empire’s military forces as a whole, but his charge is also with protecting their great king from danger. Surric’s “Personal guardian” as some would out it, is both his friend and aide when needed. The Asbaar is one of the most highly respected positions available within the Sakoian Military, and the reason why is indubitable.
Lan-Kor: The Septi Tarn’s Shadow master
The name Lan-Kor translates into the Language of Taril literally as “Master of Shadows” and that is what the Lan-Kor does. He advises Surric of potential dangers of sabotage, directs missions within the large Sakoian spy network, and is the person all espionage filters back to within the desert. The Selue act as the Lan-Kor’s military branch during wartimes, although somewhat informally. Although his job may change from day to day, whatever his job is it is assured that whatever information that job may reveal will be within the ears of Surric very shortly.
Positions of Local and Semi-National government power.
Rika: Highest level official within Sakoian Towns and Villages
The Rikas of each town are held accountable for organizing, running, and keeping track of the town their caste elects them to govern. Rikas hold a close relationship with the towns Sarns and Lorelay, all in hopes to maintain smooth communication between the town law enforcement, and law makers, as well as to keep a good idea of the needs of the Villagers or townspeople. The Rika’s main job is to maintain justice and balance the settlements resources and money for use. This job is especially difficult in places like Daular, where several castes and several branches within each caste control portions of the cities resources and land. In cases like this, the Rika acts as the “Middleman” between each caste as well as the government; Even though they are members of the Sol-Tarn themselves.
Lorelay: The “Voice” of each town
Each new town, city, or village created within the Sakoian Empire is subject to creating two main roles. The Rika, which governs town matters internally and helps keep balance within it. The Lorelay's job is to report matters within the town to the Conclave in Sakril. The Lorelay also faces the tough position for helping set local laws and deal with law enforcement within each town alongside the local Rika, Head Sarn and sometimes the Arch Tier of each town.
Arch Tier: The Spiritual leader for each town
Alongside the election of the Rika, and Lorelay for each town’s consultant politically, the Arch Tier is a much coveted and revered position amongst each town. The Arch Tier is usually formal friends with the Grand tier of the Conclave of powers, and consults their Caste head often. The Arch Tier is often heavily involved in the creation of a new town, usually requesting aid or protection to the Grand tier who would bring this decision before the courts. This role farther strengthens the Sakoians Ties to the Religious caste, and makes it the most highly thought after caste in all of the Empire.
Ki-Wellay: “Natures Keeper”
A strange breed between political and military castes with strong ties to the Law enforcing Sarns in the area, The Ki-Wellay is often called Natures keeper. The true translation in Taril means Heartful Guardian, and he or she does just as the name implies. Their Job is to take reports from resource gatherers within the Desert and log their progress. They also give permission within each town, area, or villages to allow certain individuals to mine, forage, or hunt for an allotted amount of time. They widely monitor all resources going in and out of the desert, and report their tabs to the local Lorelay who then can decide how to better distribute their licenses for the next allotted amount of time. The Ki-Wellay is also in charge of reporting ‘theft’ of resources in the empire to the local Head Sarn, who would then likely hunt this poacher of the land down.
