1. Will a third party be able to play our heir ?
At first players will not be able to play heirs, but
it is definately in our development plans to add the
opportunity to do so at a later date.
2. Will our characters have an A.I. to supply an
unforeseen event ? (i.e: disconnection)
Yes.
3. Will there be many sea animals ? Can we interact
with them ? (whale, killer whale, sharks, fishes).
Yes there will. They will interract with you if you
provoke them, you can also hunt for certain fish to
eat.
4. Can we craft on large boats (like a forge, or
couturiers to repair the sails, or a cook in the
kitchens) ? Will it be possible to have accredited
crafters on a boat, whose workshops are situated on
the boat itself ?
Yes to all of the above. People will be able to own
and run ship yards that create vessels, you'll be able
to name vessels at the time of their completion.
5. Are delays linked to supplying times ? For exemple,
will the number of NPC workmen on a building site be
dépendant on the availability of raw materials ?
Yes of course : If you don't have the food to support
your work force they won't work, if you don't have the
materials there for the continuation of building
something the building will not continue to be built.
6. Will NPCs appear magically if we ask them to do so,
or will there be unemployed NPCs waiting for work to
do ? Will players have to compete with each others to
recruit those NPCs ?
There are a finite number of NPCs in the world...
however, it will take a while before you start having
to compete for them.
7. If I've got two weapons in my back, what will
happen when I will sit down ? Is a special animation
provided ? Or will we see our longsword "sticking"
itself on the ground ?
You won't be able to put two weapons in a back pack..
you might be able to wear them on your back - however,
you will not be able to do certain movements : like
sitting down.
8. Will we be able to dye / paint: armors of all
types, hair, clothes, and this precisely ? For exemple
blue trousers and a black belt ? Will there be varied
patterns ?
Yes, the crafting system is very expansive : you can
dye items you make. In addition to that you can change
peoples looks through hair dressing.
9. Of which type is Adellion soundtrack ? Is it
event-based (ie : if I die, there's a special music,
if I'm fighting against a wild animal, there's a
special music) or environment-based (fire noises in a
forge, waves, wind, birds, rats, ...)
We have two different type so of music, the first
being the background music (daytime, adventure, night
or war) on top of that you will get special events
music as well as Sound Effects (fire noises, waves,
wind, birds, etc etc.)
10. Will we be able to create our own melodies if we
are musicians ?
There are a finite number of tunes to choose from at
this time.
11. Without any ageing process system, it is possible
to see a 25-generations family with the oldest member
still alive. How are you dealing with that ?
We are considering how the ageing process will work
within Adellion for that very reason, we may limit the
number of generations that any family can have to keep
it realistic (therefore you would have to take over a
sibling or offspring of an existing generation rather
than be the first in a new Generation.)
12. I'm a thief and I've got NPCs helping me, if they
attack/steal someone, will this person be able to know
whose NPCs they are ?
Yes, the NPCs will retain knowledge of their former
employers along with how they were treated by them.
13. I'm an assassin disguised during my murder. If the
victim had the time to write a name on my disguised
form, will he be able to recognize me after his death
?
No he will not, he will only recognise you as his last
character (but if that wasn't his final death then he
could still find you.)
14. Will I be able to recycle objects ?
Yes, you can melt down and reuse materials from
certain objects.
15. Will those objects have a lifetime if they are
neglected ? (iron that rusts, wood that rotten, ...)
All items have a lifespan, so they will need
repair/replacing in time.
16. How will the three lives be managed ?
- This one is a bit vague a question?
17. Will we one day reach the Powder Age, at least for
canons (which are really interesting on boats) ?
There will be the opportunity to advance the
technology of the world to what it once was, but the
process will be slow as Inventors will have to travel
the world to find hints in how to do so.
18. Will we be able to keep a boat (or other vehicles
?) after having boarded it, as a spoil of war ?
Yes, if you can take control of objects then you will
be able to own them.
19. How many skills can we train completely each day ?
Does each skill have a sub-skill ? For exemple,
Skill Hunter, Sub-skill: animal knowledge, traps, ...
?
You can work on as many skills as you like, but the
number of skills that will significantly increase will
be limited.
20. Does physical strenght have an influence on how
much you can carry ? If a burden is just over the
possibilities of my character, will I be able to drag
the object (or the corpse) ?
Yes strength will vary the amount you can carry/pull.
21. When we are taming a wild animal, can this animal
go back to his wild sate and attack you ?
Yes it can.
22. If I'm the only captain on a boat, and if I
disconnect, what will happen if nobody else on the
boat has a knowledge of navigation ?
The boat will drift, when you log back on you won't
know where you are - it would be best to anchor
somewhere before logging off.
23. Will NPC workmen continue working even if the
player is not near them ? (Disconnected, or not).
Yes.
24. Will you use the 256 colors palette for the dyes
(like in some UO shards) ?
The number of dyes that we will use has not been set
yet.
25. If meteorological events are introduced, will they
have an influence on our clothes (muddy boots, wet
cloak) ?
Yes they will.
26. If I use my staff as a weapon, will I be able to
attach him in my back or will my character always have
it in hand ?
You could attach it to your back providing there is
nothing else already there.
27. Are martial arts techniques based on real
techniques ? Can we do Kung-fu, Karate, Tai chi ? Can
we create new ones ?
Only basic forms of unarmed combat will be included as
the Deollyns have now been put on hold.
28. For singers, how does it work ? Do I have to sing
with my microphone behind my computer ?
There will be a number of songs to learn in the world
that a player can then use to entertain other people.
29. Will there be little games in Adellion (Cards,
Chess, ...) ?
There may be in the future, but we have decided not to
focus on small games until the big picture is
completed.
30. How are precisely fragmented clothes and armors ?
The system for creating different items has not been
released as yet - but stay tuned to the weekly updates
for answers to those sorts of questions.
