Hi all, I know nothing about the game at this point, but I was directed over here by another forum browser and I figured I'd check it out. I currently play Wurm Online, am beta testing Mortal Online, and also play several other games, which I can list if you want, but really don't feel like doing so at this time. :D Books are fun to read, etc, etc... And uh... I'll be looking more into this game in the next week or so. :) See you soon!

Welcome!
Things are slow right now but we have had some snags in development that are being worked out for the betterment of the game. :) So stick around and see how things work out. I will make sure you are approved.

Seems like it's very common to be hear of Adellion from other forums. Adellion spreads via word of mouth it sems...
Wurm online
Anyways, welcome. I see you play wurm online, has there been any recent developments? I tried it out a few years back. I liked the basic concept and the general feel of the game, the focus on crafting and friendly community, but didn't like the subscription model at all. Paying for a homestead of a village is...ok...but the fact that you can buy ingame currency didn't appeal to me at all. Also, there was a little too much grinding. I never got around to paying for it.
Adellion FAQ
By the way, I warmly recommend reading the Adellion FAQ, it's the best way to get a good picture of the game. The forum will complement with additional and more recent information.

Since my last post, I have gone through a bunch of the info. :D I'm thinking either the piratey ones, or the people who came from across the sea. Lots of good info, though. <3
Wurm online is still very much a grindfest, but I enjoy it. :D You still pay for the villages with the money which you can buy with real money, but if you have a craft that people want to pay you for, you never have to spend any real money any more. Recently, they added in the ability to buy game time with silver from ingame. :D
edit: wow, that's a lot of smileys...

It sounds like fun! I wish I had the time to play at the moment but I have so many things going on.
So you like the Aethans and the Salans! Good choices. They should be a lot of fun in the game.

Of course, everyone wants to be a pirate :p I've felt inclined towards Salans and Tarians, but now I'm starting to feel for the Dalmites, Teila! ;) ;)
Thanks for the status update of Wurm online, then I don't have to find the info myself. What about the ingame currency? Is it hard to come by or do you always use it as the medium of exchange. I imagine there's a fair bit of bartering happening if it's difficult to get.
If you have any specific question about Adellion, I (or someone else) will be happy to try to answer it.

Yes, I doubt we will have a shortage of Pirates in the game! LOL
I would love to have you join the Dalmites, Airik! :)

Yeah... either the sailors, or I'll be in the middle of a land-locked area and be a farmer. :D
Well, the currency is all player-based. There is a decent amount in game and there are more or less set prices for almost every imaginable good/service, but to actually gain money in-game, you have to provide a service that people want, OR spend the initial 20-30 bucks on enough money to get a size 20 deed, which comes with a trader. With a trader, you can sell any items you want for a certain amount of silver that he generates per month and use that money to keep your account/the deed alive.
size 20 deed, which comes with a trader.
Size 10 village (currently) comes with a trader, although deeds are about to change.

Thanks :) I think I would be a moderate, not a bleading heart tree hugger :p

Farmer, suitable job for a Wurm-player :p By set prices, do you mean set by players (market price) or set by the game?
Cheers

Dalmites are conservationists, not environmentalists. They realize the balance between life and death and unlike our modern day 'tree huggers' they would not tie themselves to a tree to prevent it from being taken down. They might instead conduct a ritual for the tree and gather some of its seeds to plant a new tree. :)

I may go with them, too. >.> I'll just have to see when I finally get to the character creation screen. :D
And to answer your question Airik, you can click on an item and select 'get price.' The game provides an arbitrary number (fixed) based on the supposed rarity/difficulty of item, quality, composition and I think possibly some other things(weight maybe?). This number is used as kind of a baseline, as you get that price from a NPC trader if you sell to them. If you sell to a player, then the number/price can be anything you want.

Hello there all!
I didn't know if I was supposed to start a new thread or continue here, so, I figured I'd just add on to an existing topic...hope you don't mind Lt. !
I was just popping around the interwebs and happened along here and thought this appeared to be an interesting idea and, if possible, a more interesting community to check out :)
I'm a gamer (avid, casual, whatever label fits on any given day), and a -huge- fan of the fantasy genre, especially high-fantasy.
I can't wait to keep flitting around the site learning more about Adellion as a whole.
Anyway, here's just a short little "hello" and hopefully I'll find something else to comment on/get active with here before too long ^_^

Hello everyone!
Sorry in advance for my pityfull english, because i'am french!
I'am actually very interested in the project Adellion but 'cause of the language barrier i can't give all my support to the roleplay parts, it will just be totaly not understandable.:D
So i wish to be an help for the french community by making some guide or a guild inside the game later!
See you!

Aelfyr,
I am going to approve you and another French fan here on the forums so you can at the very least see what we are doing. The forums have not been active lately, and there are a myriad of reasons for that, to be explained later.
I understood you very well, by the way. I am going to post the pictures later today on the French forum. In the meantime you can see them.
Feel free to translate anything you see here and post it on the French forums. I write French much less than you write English, so its difficult for me to communicate with all of you.
Anyway, you will be approved to see the rest of the forum in a few seconds. :)

greetings every one.
I'm rather glad that I found this, it looks extremely interesting and I can't wait to see the progress of this game. I've been looking for a very long time for a game that I can immerse myself in and this looks like the very game that could provide me with what I've been wanting.
I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better and having some fun RPing with you once I've had a chance to get more familiar with the lore.
Keep up the great work, the world needs a game like this and from the few pics that I've seen already, this game looks amazing!

Greetings!
I’ve been around here before but for the life of me can’t recall my old log in info – it’s been a long time due to real life circumstances.
I’m glad that the game is still forging ahead and can’t wait to get involved now that I’m back in action.
Teila, you may not remember me, but you performed an opera for my guild in SWG as Caelera Darksun, and it was outstanding!
Good to see that you’re still a part of the RP community, and with that, I’m sure I’m in the right place.
