Hello everyone!

First of all, i want to send out a very big THANK YOU!

This game is what I've always dreamed of. I've played tons of MMO's and never quite felt at home in any of them. It always felt like the interaction with the game world was lacking in one way or another, and this game, from what I've read in ther FAQ section, just made all my dreams come true.

I first heard of it about 2 months ago, but forgot to save the page on my favorites (i thought i had :\). When i decided to come back and browse the website some more, and show my friends how cool it will be, i couldn't find it, or remember the name. So i spent the last 3 days searching for it non stop. finally, at about 3 Am yesterday, my luck payed off. I would have posted right there and than, but i was just so tired i decided to wait until today.

I just love the concept. The game that, to me, was the best until this day when it comes to player owned structures is Star Wars Galaxies (Pre-CU). But even that was obviously lacking in dimension. For ages have i longed for a game with the amount of freedom as your will give us non PVP/grinder/botter players. So again, THANK YOU for making my dreams come true.

Now, for my introduction:

I have an IRL name, but i would rather be called Shiro, because i'm a Roleplayer at heart and Shiro is my character. I'm 21, from Portugal and i'm an experienced gamer (as in variety, not skill). I've played more than my share of MMO's from Anarchy Online to the more recent Wonderland Online (Beta testing it right now).

I've also beta tested most games i played, some of them even known ones like Star Wars Galaxies, EVE-online, SEED, Pirates of The Caribbean Online, Archlord, DOMO, and others i can't remember because i didn't like them. I hope i can someday also test out this game, but not because of my previous beta experience, I'm just letting you know how desperate i was for a game with this freedom to come around. I want to earn my way into the Beta.

And now, finnaly, after that VERY long introduction, i finish. :P

Sorry for all the rambling.. i tend to do that. ^_^;

Shiro.

Welcome, Shiro and thanks for the intro. :)

I beta tested SWG and played it for about a year after release. I loved the game and the role playing. :) Unfortunately, it changed and many of us left with the changes. I learned a great deal though and this has helped me when involved in design work with Adellion.

I am not sure what sort of freedom you seek. Adellion does have a certain amount of freedom for role play as opposed to some games but its not a free-for -all sandbox game. You still need to fit within the norms of Adellion society and follow our rules regarding IC behavior and PvP.

I suggest you read the forums carefully and learn more about the game. I will approve you so you can post without having to wait for me to approve you. :)

I have read the forums, top to bottom, as well as the FAQ before registering. Although a sandbox type game would really be great, its hardly possible. The amount of freedom i'm talking about is like in A Tale In The Desert III, or close to it (from what i gathered in the FAQ).

No idea how many of you played that game, but there you could gather grass and leave it out to dry to make straw, gather mud and mix with the straw to make bricks, which you could than use to build your house and such. It was really cool, but repeated boring work, thats why i decided to quit.

As for SWG, i still play it, on and off, because i'm a fan of Star Wars, but the NGE just screwed everything up. Thats why i'm going to make my own OldSchool server, as soon as the good people of SWGEmu finish their work. :D

Thanks everyone for welcoming me into the forum. ^_^

Welcome to the forums.

I hope you enjoy your stay here, I have played many a MPOG myself and am among some of the older members on this forum. I have always been interested and even when I took a break was still here every now and again.

Roleplays are slow paced and often end at strange times, mainly due to one particular member going off somewhere. I have done a structured roleplay before aswell, discussing each action in advance and that was a very successful venture. If you are really interested in roleplaying and can be active for an extended period of time I might just start another such roleplay. :)

I would join your Old School Server if it was role play oriented. :)

Adellion will have some similarities to ATITD. The skills will be very detailed and you must collect resources to make items. However, I don't think the timings will be quite as realistic as ATITD...some things will take a while but not too bad. And of course, there will be plenty of politics, role play, adventure, quests, and other things to do besides just skilling and building things. I think Adellion will be a nice mix.
