Things have been very quiet on the Adellion website for the past few months as the long grind of creating artwork and terrain for the game continues. However, there is a second larger reason for the quietness on the website....
Shhhhhhhhh.....
For the past few months the website team has been designing a new more modern website.
That’s right. You heard it first here.
We like the features of the current website, but the technology has been moving on and it is time for us to play catch up. So you can expect a new look and additional features coming in the near future. Can’t say exactly when since there is quite a bit of design and testing still to be done and their could be a few hiccups, but expect to see a new look that still keeps the medieval flavor of our game in a prettier package in the not too distant future.
9 July 2007 Art Competition Win
Back in May/June time, Dennis Trevillyan won the L3TD image of the month competition with an Adellion landscape.
If you would like to take a look,
Here’s the link.
Well done Dennis!
19 January 2007 Trees, many, many trees....
Well, when I saw what CAF has been working on, I just had to show everyone... But it comes with a disclaimer, so, over to CAF:
What you see here is sample of current work done on environment. For this kind of development I work on non modified Torque engine and not on Adellion game code, the terrain is home made (not Adellion terrain), player model, sky and water are from Torque demo. The number of tree shown here is 200’000 which is quite impressive but that number will be much lower within the game as there will be lot of other things to draw like others players, animals, houses and 100’s of other things. Be also aware that the models used for the tree are not final models but some models I use for test. Here I concentrate on the technology not the art.

16 January 2007 December/January Journal
Everyone, we have an extra special Journal for you today, because it’s got me in it. =)
Well, that’s not the real reason it’s special, we’ve got a competition in this one so check it out. We’ve also got a feature story by Liz, and John tells us about the smelting skill.
15 November 2006 October/November Journal
Ladies, Gentleman and everyone else, we have the October/November Journal for your perusal.
We’ve got mining, chatting, and a perfectly normal picture of Stuart (which is a lot nicer than the one in the first draft...)
